SOMATIC EXPERIENCE AND THE TRIPLE VAGAL METHOD ADDRESS THE BODY AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.

We believe that each human being has the right to live free in his body and to break the shackles of past traumas.

By gently resolving symptoms that have become stuck and confined in the body regarding difficult past traumas, we become more serene and sustained with each session, and transformation reaches deeper levels of consciousness.

When working therapeutically, we aim to create an embodied experience of the cognitively understood material. To create a bridge between the past and the present moment, to offer a different or expanded understanding of an event, and from there to transform the story and release the energetic bonds that hold it with the client. A different future can be created by reprogramming unwanted patterns or autonomous responses to trauma into openness and curiosity in the spontaneous movement of a body that feels relaxed, safe and alive.

The awareness that we repeat what we know and that this is not a moral failure.
It is the feedback from our past.
It is the result of the subconscious mind drawing us into what it can predict.
Through the practice of somatic awareness, we can make choices outside of our familiar – in alignment with who we choose to be.
Somatic Consciousness is a practice for anyone who is interested.
Each and Everybody is endowed with extraordinary intelligence.

What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing addresses stress resulting from trauma. Such as emotional or physical abuse, accidents, surgeries, or falls from impact. By balancing the internal experience with the external presence of safety and reliable support, we release the accumulated tension. We then feel calmer, safer, and more supported.

Somatic Experiencing, developed by Peter Levine, therefore restores the body’s capacity for self-regulation. As we follow internal and external states, moving our awareness from internal sensations to external orientation, we discover new resources such as experiences of joy, calm, strength, and vitality.

Learning how we deal with stress in the body is really understood by experiencing it. In this sense, Somatic Experiencing is different from Psychotherapy because it works only with small pieces of personal history that we feel in the body. This almost always gives the body time to integrate the activating information. This meticulous tracking of traumatic information creates a sense of mastery, competence, and enthusiasm for the process.

Discharging stress patterns trapped in a dissociative state is extremely effective, and doing this in a titrated way gives the body a deep sense of rest and well-being, resilience, and vitality.

The SE approach acts on the behavior of the autonomic nervous system through awareness of bodily sensations related to the traumatic situation. By focusing and directing the sensory-motor perception of the body, the client gradually and safely expresses and releases the hyper-activation of survival energies that remained trapped after the trauma-related event.

In this way, the client can find new meaning for his suffering, restore internal balance, and improve his resilience in future stressful situations by increasing his vitality and ability to embrace and engage in life’s activities. As a result, this mindful attention helps us stay attuned to the present moment.

A holistic, body-based, gentle rhythmic approach tailored to the transformation of physical and emotional trauma.

What is the Triple Vagal Method?

“The Triple Vagal Method® (TVM™) was developed after 7 years of applied research and thousands of documented sessions. The Triple Vagal Method® is a somatic trauma transformation method that aims to release & heal trauma while increasing vagal tone through physical manipulation of the main branches of the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is responsible for freeze and social engagement responses in the body and we engage the branches responsible for these responses safely in each TVM™ session. This is done through physical touch and simulation of the nervous system; safely, effectively, and rapidly.

The Triple Vagal Method® (TVM™) is a bottom-up somatic approach to trauma healing that is achieved by releasing trauma from the nervous system in order to complete any unresolved trauma cycles, this encourages the releasing of oxytocin and the breaking down calcification (neuro speech fuzz) of the fascia all the while reducing the levels of cortisol (stress hormone) in the body.

TVM™ is an applied modality based on the polyvagal theory. We understand that the body stores different types of trauma in different parts of the nervous system, soft tissue, and even organs. All that may be released through physical stimulation of the vagus nerve to rapidly switch from sympathetic (threat or survival mechanism/ fight or flight mode) to the parasympathetic system (rest and digest).”

How does TVM work?

TVM™ actively engages the polyvagal nervous system and ladder to manually stimulate oxytocin in a calculated approach to rebuild the polyvagal tone and neural pathways to rehabilitate trauma responses in the body. This is done through structured and controlled surges and allowances of time to facilitate neuroplasticity and reprogram a new baseline of neural pathways for trauma responses.

How is it applied?

When applying The Triple Vagal Method (TVM™) , we rely primarily on physically stimulating the nervous system to complete the trauma cycle to heal deregulation and disassociation and restore safety in the body. This is is applied by pressing onto the pressure points of the body to release calcification that is stored in the tissue to facilitate trauma transformation and rapid healing.

The vagal method rebuilds healthier neurological pathways through neuroplasticity.
